You can help protect the upper Goat River watershed. Here's how: 1. Write a letter A simple typed or handwritten letter is still one of the most effective effective tools in the conservation toolbox. Please write to the following elected officials and tell them that you want an immediate moratorium on logging and road building in the upper Goat. Tell them that the upper Goat is worth more to you as wilderness and wildlife habitat than short term profits for forest companies. Honourable Joyce Murray, Minister of Water, Land and Air Protection PO Box 9047, STN PROV GOVT, Victoria, BC, V8W 9E1
Honourable Stan Hagen, Minister of Sustainable Resource Management PO Box 9054, STN PROV GOVT, Victoria, BC, V8W 9E2
Honourable Mike de Jong, Minister of Forests PO Box 9049, STN PROV GOVT, Victoria, BC, V8W 9E2
An original letter is of course best. However, if you would like to use our pre-written letter as a template, you can find one here.
2. Send an email Click on the following links to automatically send an email expressing your views on the plight of the upper Goat. Again, feel free to use our draft letter. Honourable Joyce Murray, Minister of Water, Land and Air Protection Honourable Stan Hagen, Minister of Sustainable Resource Management Honourable Mike de Jong, Minister of Forests 3. Volunteer The Fraser Headwaters Alliance desperately needs help with the campaign to save the upper Goat. If you will be in the Robson Valley and want to get involved, or if you would like information on how you can help us where you live, send us an email or call us at (250) 968-4490. Click here to see photos of banners put up last week along Highway 16! 4. Donate The upper Goat campaign is being conducted on a shoestring budget. If you would like to help, but can't fit saving our remaining wilderness into your tight schedule, how about making a donation to help the cause? Donations will be put towards operating the Fraser Headwaters Alliance office, buying office supplies, printing educational materials, and other such activities. Checks can be made out to the Fraser Headwaters Alliance and sent to us at 6005 Brown Road, Dunster, BC, V0J 1J0. A big thank you to all our donors. We can't do this without you! 5. Distribute Download the poster to the right, print it out on your home printer, and put it up around town. People with slow internet connections might want to grab a cup of coffee while it downloads (1.3MB). Viewing the poster requires Adobe Acrobat, which can be downloaded for free from here.
